LIAMKINS
LIAMKINS
started as an act of Yury (stage name is George) Lyamkin, Moscow based
musician,songwriter. The previous(first) band’s name was The Plane,
which later had been changed to Updiverss. The band The Plane was formed
in Moscow in july 2002 after NME (New Musical Express,the russian
edition) had released on its CD Y.Lyamkin’s song “ONE DIAMOND”. Then he
formed a band called The Plane and started performing in trend-setting
Moscow clubs.
“PLAY”the magazine has chosen another Y.Lyamkin’s song “NO ONE CAN PLAY” for its CD (2005).
Under new name Updiverss,the band has recorded its first album ‘I Am Happy With My Jacket’ (10 tracks) at Woodhouse Studio (HAGEN,WESTFALEN) with producer Siggi Bemm/Dan Diamond.
UPDIVERSS’songs are played by european radio stations(Krass Radio-Germany,Pulse Rated-UK,Radio Netherland,Belarus Radio Stations). The song Treasure peaked at number one in the top 50 of Midnight Special Blues Radio (Paris,January,2009).The band takes part in festivals – Linz fest (Austria,July,2005), the biggest rock-fest in Russia ‘Nashestviye’(July,2009).
LIAMKINS is Y.Lyamkin’s new act since July 2010.
Now regularly performing act in Moscow avenues but not only.
On May,2012 LIAMKINS team with a drummer Michael Ponkratyev and the producers, Andrey Sinyaev and Timur Dolotkazin at MMS Records and within the summer and autumn 2012 do multi-track recording sessions for a new album “Reason Softly Speaks Or Just Make It Louder”. MMS is a top-class studio and LIAMKINS at last get both support and understanding from the new partners. So this album is a team effort of the musicians and producers.
